Timothy Spotts

Timothy Spotts is a lifelong resident of Buffalo. He graduated from UB and attended UB Law School. After completing law school, to was selected to be a New York State Senate Legislative Fellow. He served as Chief Counsel to the New York State Senate Judiciary Committee and as Chief Counsel to the Ranking Minority Member of the New York State Senate Health Committee. During his tenure in the New York State Senate, Tim successfully passed over sixty pieces of legislation into law. Some highlights include: passing legislation that secured over $250 million in federal funds for New York State; allowing over 5,000 public housing units to remain in the Mitchell Lama Rent Stabilization Program for the next 30 years and working with parent groups and government entities to revise and modernize the New York City Mayoral Control legislation. Tim helped to pass the Workers’ Compensation Reform Act that significantly increased the rate of compensation for injured workers in 2007. He also helped to pass the 2013 Business Relief Act that dramatically reduced the operational costs of the Workers’ Compensation System. Tim now focuses his efforts on representing clients before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board.
